Bennu’s chefs are artisans of fire, who wield fire to turn cooking into theatre.
Bennu started as the idea of a high-end restaurant that specializes in open flame cooking in Istanbul’s coveted neighbourhood Etiler. We were tasked with developing a complete brand story for this new fine dining location from strategy and name to visual identity, packaging and all branded assets.
Any restaurant needs a working definition to reflect its unique experience and recipes. What made this project unique was its commitment to cooking with open flames. Tempered with fire and flavored with smoke - we honed in on a definition that directly reflected this experience: Flame Cuisine.
This definition became the starting point for the entire creative identity. Born anew upon touching flames, we named the restaurant Bennu after a cultural phoenix variant. Flame cooking is amongst humanity’s oldest traditions, so we developed a world that is both cultural and modern, with smoky sophistication. We referenced the technique’s historic roots but added a refined finish. This direction also influenced the interior design of the restaurant and set the tone for the restaurant’s complete experience.
